The athletic teams at Colorado State University–Pueblo are known as the ThunderWolves, who compete in NCAA Division II, in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, in 16 sports, for men and women, which include baseball, basketball, tennis, wrestling, volleyball and golf. Their distinctive colors are red and blue and their mascot is Wolfie.
Abel Tapia - elected as the Colorado State Senator for District 3 in 2002, Frank Grant - wide receiver in the NFL from 1973 to 1978, Herman Heard - running back for the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs from 1984-89, Michael Arnzen - Associate Professor of English at Seton Hill University, Dana Perino - White House Press Secretary (2007-09) for former President George W.
